This dynamic team is dedicated to utilizing advanced technology and infrastructure to meet reliability goals. As part of a cross-functional team, you will contribute to projects transitioning from development to operational phases, ensuring a modernized electric grid that supports safe, resilient, and efficient operations. Role Overview Join our innovative team as we harness high-resolution data from technologies such as synchrophasors, SCADA, and asset health systems. You will help develop engineering solutions to enhance the resilience and reliability of PG&E's electric grid. This role is crucial for those eager to make a meaningful impact in the field of electric distribution. Compensation The expected salary range for this position is as follows: Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area): $147,000.00 Mid Base Salary (Bay Area): $199,000.00 Maximum Base Salary (Bay Area): $251,000.00 Minimum Base Salary (California): $140,000.00 Mid Base Salary (California): $189,000.00 Maximum Base Salary (California): $238,000.00 Key Responsibilities Design and develop innovative solutions to ensure a climate-resilient grid. Provide clear direction in grid modernization efforts, including DER integration, forecasting, and capacity planning. Analyze and solve unique grid-related problems, developing innovative tools to ensure optimal operational conditions. Support the reliability command center with analysis, data assignments, and requests. Manage staff through effective recruitment, training, performance management, and recognition. Build relationships with key external stakeholders, including industry and regulatory bodies. Communicate organizational goals to ensure stakeholder needs are met through deliverable development. Experiment with and demonstrate new technologies that enhance grid reliability and resiliency. Analyze outage data to identify trends and causes, applying findings towards innovative solutions. Lead efforts in developing distribution reliability strategies and metrics. Work collaboratively to develop effective performance metrics and report updates to senior management. Coordinate with resource management teams for effective work planning and forecasting. Contribute to data science strategies aligned with performance and reliability goals. Create actionable insights for investment planning and real-time decision-making. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience. Five years of relevant professional experience. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Master's degree in Business Administration or Actuarial Science. Experience with electric distribution program development, focusing on reliability, resiliency, and grid modernization. Familiarity with grid modernization tools and data processing software (Excel, Access, SQL, etc.). Background in Transmission or Distribution System Planning. Knowledge of distribution engineering, operations, substation engineering, and protection systems. Experience with SAP Financials and Work Management. Strong program and project management experience. Able to influence strategic decisions and engage with senior management at PG&E. Skilled in managing department budgets and expenses. Capable of communicating and supporting company policies, objectives, and vision.
