Position Summary The Events Manager is a key leadership role within the Meadowlands Chamber, responsible for the successful planning, execution, and marketing of all events across the Chamber and its affiliate organizations. This role aims to ensure exceptional member experiences by creating and producing business learning, fund-raising and creative networking / showcasing opportunities. Sponsorship revenue development and creative event strategies should elevate the Meadowlands Chamber brand within the regional business community. Role Overview Events are central to the success of the Meadowlands Chamber. From educational programs and networking functions to large-scale fundraising events, this position plays a critical role in designing experiences that engage members, attract sponsors, and strengthen our visibility. The Events Manager must bring creative thinking, resourcefulness, operational excellence, marketing expertise and industry insight to produce exceptional and profitable events. Key Responsibilities Plan, manage, and execute all Chamber and affiliate eventsincluding networking, educational, and signature annual programs. Manage the creation of event marketing collaterals using digital, social media, and email marketing tools. Develop and grow event sponsorships to achieve revenue goals and strengthen corporate partnerships. Manage event logistics including venue selection, vendor coordination, AV, dcor, seating plans, and run-of-show creation. Maintain a comprehensive events calendar while monitoring regional organizations events to avoid conflicts. Conduct post-event evaluations and maintain documentation to build a best practices library. Manage onsite event execution including registration, sponsor recognition, and attendee experience management. Lead event budgeting, forecasting, and P&L tracking in collaboration with the Director of Accounting. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications 24 years of proven event management experience in a nonprofit, association, hospitality, or corporate events environment. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a professional, customer-service mindset. Experience in sponsorship sales or partnership development. High attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong negotiation skills for contracts with venues, catering companies, and event vendors. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event/design software such as Canva, InDesign, Illustrator, or Photoshop. Bachelors degree or event management certification preferred. Work Environment & Expectations Collaborative team settings require flexibility and proactive communication. Professional appearance and demeanor always. Event Technology Tools The MC utilizes a CRM program specific to membership-based organizations that has a robust Events Module linking directly to the MC website and it has a communications module allowing mass communications. We also engage Constant Contact for email marketing and Canva for flyer production.
