Part-Time Administrative Specialist - Distance Education This position serves as the first point of contact for Distance Education and Advanced Studies program and is responsible for providing information and resources to faculty and students regarding LMS troubleshooting issues, program assistance, assisting faculty and students, and providing administrative support as needed. Essential duties and responsibilities include: Greeting and directing visitors, faculty, and students. Unlocking and locking doors in the University Center. Assisting faculty and students with issues by directing them to the appropriate personnel and/or resources, as well as assisting with Canvas course builds and closed captioning as needed for designers, multi-media, and SMEs. Assisting with proctoring system setup and proctoring as applicable. Completing inventory. Pulling reporting in Canvas, updating Canvas courses, assisting in course review coordination, and training coordination. Submitting Physical Plant tickets as the building contact for issues that need fixed within the University Center. Starting and ending web conferencing classes as needed in the University Center. Required qualifications include: Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college. Two years related experience and/or training. The position will be subject to a pre-employment criminal, sex-offender registry background check. In cases where pre-determined, an additional financial/credit history/background check may be required as well. Convictions that have been sealed or legally eradicated and misdemeanor convictions for which probation was completed and the case was dismissed, will be excluded. Disclosure does not constitute an automatic bar to employment. Factors such as dates of the offense, seriousness and nature of the violation, rehabilitation, and position applied for will be taken into account.
