Operations Analyst The Operations Analyst supports the Optimization & Transformation team by conducting operational analyses, documenting processes, gathering requirements, and assisting with improvement initiatives across SPG's portfolio companies. Working closely with Senior Operations Consultants and cross-functional teams, this role analyzes business processes, identifies inefficiencies, and supports the implementation of optimization projects. This role provides broad exposure to operations across Underwriting, Sales, Claims, and business operationsoffering a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end insurance workflows. You'll gain hands-on experience with process mapping, data analysis, project coordination, and stakeholder engagement while contributing to meaningful transformation initiatives. Key Responsibilities Process Documentation & Analysis Document current-state business processes through interviews, observation, and data collection Create detailed process maps, workflow diagrams, and documentation using Visio and standard tools Analyze process flows to identify bottlenecks, redundancies, and improvement opportunities Maintain process documentation libraries with proper version control Support value stream mapping sessions and create visual process models Gather and document business requirements from operational stakeholders Data Collection & Analysis Collect and analyze operational data to support process assessments and improvement initiatives Develop metrics and tracking mechanisms to measure process performance Create reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings and trends Conduct process cost analysis and capacity assessments under guidance of senior team members Analyze process cycle times, volumes, and resource utilization Support gap analyses by comparing current capabilities against target-state requirements Project Support & Coordination Assist Senior Operations Consultants with transformation project planning and execution Coordinate project activities including scheduling, action item tracking, and documentation Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for technology implementations Maintain project plans, timelines, and status reports Track project risks, issues, and dependencies Prepare materials for stakeholder meetings and presentations Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management Conduct interviews with operations staff to understand current processes and pain points Facilitate working sessions to gather requirements and validate process documentation Build relationships with operational teams to support ongoing improvement efforts Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders at appropriate levels Support change management activities by creating training materials and job aids Continuous Improvement & Collaboration Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and rapid improvement events Research best practices and industry benchmarks for operational processes Support identification and prioritization of automation opportunities Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures and process guides Collaborate with Finance, Technology, and Operations Delivery teams to support cross-functional initiatives Qualifications Required Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, Operations Management, or a related fieldor an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience Experience: 13 years in insurance operations, business analysis, process improvement, or a related analytical role.
