Salary : $2,701.89 - $3,832.69 Monthly Location : Human Resources Department, North Little Rock Job Type: Full Time Job Number: 26025 Department: Airport Opening Date: 02/12/2026 Closing Date: 3/12/2026 4:00 PM Central General Responsibilities Summary Assists Airport Director in the maintenance of the Airport grounds and facilities by performing the following manual labor and semi-skilled duties. Essential Functions include the following. The list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary. Other duties may be assigned. Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position. General Grounds Maintenance: mows grass, operates tractor (with attachments), bush hog, weed-eater, blower, chainsaw and other similar equipment. General Facilities Maintenance: performs manual and semi-skilled labor involved in building maintenance, airfield lighting, and general airport maintenance that may include minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and equipment repair. Custodial Duties: includes, but not limited to: floor maintenance, dusting, removing trash and setup of equipment and materials for special events. Runway, taxiway, and airfield lighting inspectionsMinor Administrative Tasks: answer the phone and provide airport information to patrons. Minimum Qualifications To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High school diploma or equivalent AND six (6) months experience performing related duties which include performing intermediate to heavy manual labor indoors and outdoors on a daily basis. The employee may be required to drive or operate the following vehicles or equipment. A class D driver's license and good driving record are required and must be maintained throughout employment. Application Requirements The complexity, guidelines, supervisory controls and supervision responsibilities described below are representative of this position: SUPERVISORY CONTROLS: Works under the general guidance and direction of the Airport Director. The work is controlled, either by the supervisor or the structured nature of the work. For one-of-a-kind and repetitive tasks the supervisor makes specific assignments that are accompanied by clear, detailed, and specific instructions. The worker consults with the supervisor as needed on all matters not specifically covered in the original instructions or guidelines. The supervisor reviews most work. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Provides some task supervision to day workers, youth challenge personnel and/or volunteers. While supervising tasks, employee is responsible for safety and welfare of such workers and for supervising in a non-discriminatory manner. COMPLEXITY: Employee carries out simple one or two-step instructions. The work consists of tasks that are clear-cut and directly related; there is little or no choice to be made in deciding what needs to be done; actions to be taken or responses to be made are readily discernible; the work should be quickly mastered. GUIDELINES: Specific, detailed guidelines covering all important aspects of the assignments are provided; authorization is needed for deviations. The benefits below are for authorized full-time, non-uniformed employees. (Uniformed employees are sworn Police and Fire Department personnel.) Holidays - Twelve (12) paid holidays per year. Insurance - 100% premium payment for employee health insurance, 75% paid health insurance coverage for dependents; paid life insurance. Worker's Compensation - Coverage is provided for each employee for medical bills and work time lost due to on-the-job injuries. Longevity Pay - After completing a full year of employment with the City of North Little Rock, an employee is granted longevity pay at the rate of $5.25 per month times the number of years employed. Vacation - Accrual begins with date of hire with eligibility to use accrued vacation leave after six months of service. Vacation may be accumulated to a maximum of 30 days. Vacation is calculated: Years of Service Annual Vacation Days 1-3 10 3-10 15 10-20 18 Over 20 22 Sick Leave - All full-time, regular, non-uniformed employees earn twenty (20) sick leave days annually with unlimited accumulation. Discretionary Leave - Employees with two or more years of continuous service on January 1 of each year are granted 16-48 hours discretionary leave during that year, depending on length of service.
