Providing expert nursing care in a dynamic Observation Unit setting, this role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care for individuals requiring short-term evaluation, typically within 24 to 48 hours. The nurse will perform rapid and thorough assessments, coordinate care plans, and implement timely interventions for patients with a variety of medical and surgical needs. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive initial and frequent patient assessments to monitor changes and progress. Administer medications, IV therapies, treatments, and prepare patients for diagnostic procedures according to protocols. Monitor vital signs, laboratory values, and diagnostic results, promptly reporting any concerns. Educate patients on their diagnosis, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions. Collaborate closely with physicians, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams to facilitate timely patient disposition. Accurately document all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses in electronic health records. Manage smooth admission, transfer, and discharge processes to ensure continuity of care. Respond effectively to urgent situations, performing emergency interventions as appropriate. Uphold infection control, patient safety, and regulatory compliance standards. Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and overall experience. Qualifications: Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Experience in fast-paced acute care or observation unit preferred.
