Position Type: Middle School Teachers/Stipend Date Posted: 2/26/2026 Location: Jockey Hollow Middle School Date Available: 03/02/2026 Closing Date: 03/12/2026 DESCRIPTION: Grade 6 After School Boost program @ Jockey Hollow - Stipend Position in ELA and Math Math Boost is a small group learning series strengthening mathematical modeling skills and working on "reading like a mathematician". Students will get up to 10 hours of extra practice decoding word problems and deriving the correct math algorithm to solve the problem. ELA Boost is a small group learning series targeting essential literacy skills including decoding strategies, reading fluency, and vocabulary, through fiction and non-fiction texts. Students will get up to 10 hours of extra practice comprehending grade-level materials and analyzing text evidence. Applicants should possess the ability to communicate clearly and motivate students to complete high quality work. Needed for 1 hour after school 2 days per week on late bus days - teachers can decide together which two days the program runs on. Program runs March and April through March. Certificate in ELA, Math, Elementary or Middle Grades preferred. Teachers will be paid at the MEA contract tutor rate of $56.90/hour
