We are currently seeking an Institutional Energy Sales Specialist to join our Equities team at our New York, NY office. About the Role This role is ideal for a candidate who has built a strong foundation in institutional energy sales or energy research and is ready to transition into a broader equities sales platform. The successful candidate will leverage deep energy sector expertise to serve institutional clients, support equity capital markets activity, and contribute to the continued growth of our energy franchise across domestic and international markets. You will work closely with senior sales professionals, research analysts, and investment banking teams to deliver differentiated investment ideas and energy sector insights to a diverse base of institutional clients, including hedge funds, long-only funds, sovereign wealth funds, and multi-strategy funds. Responsibilities Support the development of the firm's energy equities business across the U.S., Canada, and Europe by engaging institutional clients with timely, relevant investment ideas and market commentary Provide specialist investment guidance to energy sector institutional investors, assessing market trends, identifying investment opportunities, and communicating strategic recommendations Market energy-specific equity products to major institutional clients, including Road Shows, IPOs, Follow-on Offerings, and firm research product Build and manage client relationships with energy-focused institutional investors, serving as a trusted point of contact and ensuring the firm maintains its status as a valued partner Collaborate with research analysts and investment banking teams to pitch and support the execution of equity capital markets transactions within the energy sector Assist in managing energy sector marketing strategy, including investor conferences, analyst marketing events, and Non-Deal Roadshows (NDRs) Develop and expand knowledge of global energy market dynamics, including the positioning of private and public energy companies within institutional investment portfolios and the broader stock market Support account management of specialist energy accounts, ensuring consistent client engagement and high service standards Contribute to energy sector distribution efforts across the broader equities platform by coordinating with corporate access and equities management teams Participate in public-facing energy sector discussions and industry events to help elevate the firm's brand and share market expertise Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a closely related field with 35 years of progressive experience in institutional energy sales, energy research, or a related field Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or closely related field preferred, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 licenses required, or willingness to obtain upon hire 35 years of institutional energy sales or energy research experience, with demonstrated knowledge of the energy sector and its investment landscape Experience working with hedge funds, long-only funds, sovereign wealth funds, and/or multi-strategy funds as it relates to investment decision-making in the energy space Familiarity with sell-side equity research analysis and the ability to synthesize and communicate research-driven investment ideas Exposure to equity capital markets transactions, including IPOs, follow-on offerings, and roadshows, in partnership with investment banking teams Experience supporting or managing energy sector marketing initiatives, including conferences, NDRs, and analyst marketing Deep energy sector expertise with the ability to identify market trends, investment opportunities, and sector-specific risks Strong client connectivity and relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with energy-focused institutional investors Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present investment ideas clearly and persuasively to institutional audiences Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a high-performance team environment Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment Willingness and ability to travel up to 3050% domestically and internationally to meet with current and prospective clients As a leading investment bank, we enable growth and success for our clients through deep sector expertise, candid advice and a differentiated, highly productive culture. The anticipated starting salary range for individuals expressing interest in this position is $125,000 - $200,000 per year. Placement within this range is dependent upon level of experience, location and other factors. This position is eligible for annual incentive compensation which will be a part of the total compensation. Total compensation for this position will be competitive with the market.
