Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the store manager and associates to ensure an enjoyable shopping experience for customers, enhancing Kroger's reputation for excellence in customer service. Support the store manager in executing merchandising and operational initiatives effectively. Assist in developing and communicating action plans based on Associate Insight survey results. Work alongside department heads and store associates to identify areas for improvement, devise solutions, and implement action plans. Exemplify top-notch customer service, addressing and resolving customer and associate issues. Manage overall store operations in the absence of the store manager. Achieve and surpass sales, wage budgets, and profit targets, alongside other critical goals like safety and shrink management. Drive sales growth in collaboration with department managers by maximizing profits and minimizing shrinkage. Assist in financial performance discussions, focusing on budgeting and achieving specific goals. Analyze competitive trends and respond accordingly within the district. Promote inclusive leadership and encourage a culture of respect and diversity among associates. Utilize support staff to ensure that departments meet sales and profit goals as well as implement merchandising plans. Foster relationships with local community organizations that enhance the store's image. Build strong relationships with union representatives as needed. Communicate critical information to associates to facilitate their tasks efficiently. Act as a communication link with store and district managers regarding operational effectiveness. Assist in hiring processes, minimizing turnover, and promoting retention of talent. Provide constructive feedback on performance to department heads and associates. Manage daily labor and supply costs to meet customer service and financial objectives. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws as well as company policies. Supervise and mentor direct reports, conducting performance reviews and providing ongoing feedback. Minimum Requirements: At least 1 year of experience as a department manager, service manager, or in a similar role.
