Job Summary: This role involves performing limited nursing, environmental, and nutritional tasks to support and maintain the health and well-being of residents in a community care setting. The position requires administering and documenting medication reminders and treatments as prescribed by physicians, assisting residents with special needs, and monitoring vital signs. Essential Functions: Responsibilities include ordering medications as directed by the care team coordinator, preparing monthly summaries and necessary charting, conducting periodic resident checks, transporting residents to medical appointments, and maintaining clean living areas. Collaboration with staff to provide nutritionally balanced meals and snacks is also expected. Additional Duties: May perform cooking duties as needed and maintain daily records of residents' activities and conditions. The job description is flexible and may evolve with changing needs. Education & Qualifications Preferred certification as a Qualified Medical Assistant (QMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or equivalent experience. Ability to maintain accurate routine records and files related to residents' health needs. Competence in administering medication according to physician instructions and performing simple medical procedures such as taking blood pressure and temperature. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to read and interpret menus and food preparation procedures. Responsibilities Work requires a high degree of accuracy in record keeping and strict adherence to medication dosages as prescribed. Supervision and cross-checking with physicians and pharmacists ensure safety and compliance. Errors could have significant adverse effects on residents. Working Relationships Collaborates closely with supervisors, department associates, residents, physicians, and pharmacists to provide comprehensive care and meet residents' needs.
