Position Summary As the Senior Construction Manager, you will lead the execution of the Pole Reinforcement Program and System Inspections. You will ensure contract compliance, consult on project feasibility, coordinate with construction teams, oversee inspectors, and perform hands-on construction oversight as needed. This role involves preparing job packages, developing construction estimates, conducting site visits, and collaborating with bidders, contractors, and regulatory agencies. Your efforts will ensure all projects are completed according to company standards, engineering designs, and regulatory guidelines. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, blending remote work with on-site responsibilities in the PG&E Service Territory, based on business needs. Job Responsibilities Apply advanced knowledge in civil, electrical, process instrumentation, and electric construction management across various projects. Participate in job scope walkthroughs with PG&E. Interpret, design, and write detailed work-specific scope documentation, contributing to contract decisions. Review RFPs to confirm financial data aligns with the job scope. Lead formal job walk-throughs, discussing project scope, schedule, and timelines. Compile internal documents and data for the RFP and contract processes. Manage communication with contractors and facilitate discussions on-site to clarify designs. Utilize a workload management database to monitor project progress and assist other team members with system usage. Ensure compliance with site-specific safety plans and enforce environmental and safety regulations. Assist in pre-construction cycles, conduct project walks, and provide constructability insights as needed. Oversee contractor billing documentation, manage change orders, and close project records effectively. Conduct weekly construction meetings and maintain effective communication with superintendents and project managers. Provide mentorship to Associate and Career level employees as needed. Provide field oversight and respond to inquiries from on-site teams as necessary. Expect approximately 50% to 80% travel Qualifications Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in Industrial Engineering or Construction. Willingness to travel 50-80% of the time with occasional overnight stays. Preferred: At least 7 years of relevant experience in Industrial Engineering or Construction. Familiarity with utility poles. Proven skills in cost accounting, contract administration, and project scheduling. Experienced in project or program management, inspection, and quality control. Knowledgeable in electric distribution and transmission construction practices. Strong project and personnel management abilities. Capable of understanding and communicating construction processes, methods, and guidelines. Proficient in fostering collaboration to achieve project goals. The salary range for this position varies based on experience and location. The Bay Area minimum salary is $102,000, the midpoint is $132,000, and the maximum is $162,000. For California, the minimum is $97,000, the midpoint is $125,000, and the maximum is $154,000. This job is also eligible for PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.
