Material Handler Walton, KY Compensation Includes Starting Pay Rate of $19.76/hour Overview Handle laborer duties for plant, operate baler for shift waste, deliver inks to preprint department, and ensure paste is being prepared to the specifications with minimal waste. Responsibilities Continuously perform all required tasks in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety rules and procedures. Must take immediate action to correct and/or report any unsafe conditions and hazards Keep work area clean and organized, per standards Follow all applicable food service policies and procedures Follow all PPE policies, wearing steel toe shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hair nets/beard nets, etc. as required Safely execute daily job activities including, but not limited to, 1) complete pre-shift truck inspections, 2) perform lockout/tagout for baler equipment, 3) follow confined space procedure for entering baler pit area Travel from machine to machine, taking finished product and stacking it on pallets in correct pattern Put bags through shrink tunnel, if necessary, and stack off at the other end Change plastic rolls for shrink tunnel Deliver ink to presses, reading schedule, getting ink out of barrels or off shelves, and stocking machines per schedule Remedying any minor issues Strapper/Shrink Tunnel/Labeler/Robot/Stretch Wrapper Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or applicable work experience This is an entry level position Must have basic PC knowledge Will need to use hammers and socket wrenches Must be able to operate forklift, attachments, and hoists Must have basic reading, math and communication skills Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs Company Benefits With safety as our top priority and a commitment to employee well-being an important focus, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits that include medical, dental and vision insurance as well as a variety of other well-being resources focused on mental, physical and financial health.
