Job Description

Production Planner Works closely with Resource Manager to plan, administer and communicate production schedule for optimal use of equipment, labor, and material in meeting customer needs. Coordinates with supply chain, production, maintenance, warehouse, sales, and quality departments to streamline resource allocation and address issues appropriately. Oversee inventory levels, implement process improvements, and analyze production metrics to drive efficiency and reduce waste. Essential Functions Serves as a positive role model consistent with Polo's corporate culture at all times. Act as a secondary support to the Resource Manager. Assists with planning, prioritizing, and scheduling incoming orders to meet customer delivery requirements. Assists with entering and updating production schedules as necessary in a timely manner. Oversee and maintain job records spanning inception, execution, and retention. Works closely with production to maintain schedules, monitor and change as needed. Collaborates with production, supply chain, sales, warehouse, and quality departments to ensure timely availability of materials, equipment, and labor. Address any shortages or issues that could impact production timelines. Analyzes production processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement. Implement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall production quality. Tracks and analyzes production metrics, such as lead times, throughput, and downtime. Conducts time studies to maintain equitable standards. Prepares and presents reports to management on production performance and any issues or opportunities for improvement. Ensures that production processes adhere to company standards, industry regulations, and quality control requirements. Address any compliance issues promptly. Additional Responsibilities Interacts with facility personnel to ensure associate needs are met. Assist in training new team members or supporting existing staff on production planning processes and software systems to ensure consistency and efficiency in operations. Conducts and reports cost analyses related to production and inventory, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements. Leads or participates in special projects aimed at improving production processes, implementing new technologies, or expanding product lines. Maintains accurate records of production schedules, inventory levels, and process changes to support transparency and data-driven decision-making. Other duties as assigned. Dimensions of Authority Positions that report to this position: N/A Limits of authority to change subordinates' salaries, job assignments, operating policies: N/A Limits of capital expenditure authority: N/A Other limits to authority: N/A Position Requirements To perform at a proficient level and to be fully qualified, a person would be expected to have: Education: Degree in supply chain management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred. Experience: 2-5 years' experience in production planning or a similar role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in textiles or custom manufacturing. Licenses/Certifications: N/A Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong understanding of production processes, scheduling techniques, and inventory management. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficiency in production planning software and tools. Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Physical Requirements Ability to stay standing and seated for extended timeframes. Ability to effectively utilize a computer for extended timeframes. Ability to lift 15 pounds. Ability to read, write and communicate 100% of the time in person and via computer. Work Environment The role is based in a manufacturing facility, with regular office hours and occasional overtime as required to meet production demands. Could be exposed to shop elements such as noise, odors, fumes and variation in temperature. Some travel may be required for supplier visits or client meetings.
