Web Project Manager (AD2), Division of Marketing & Communication Job no: 501322 Work type: Regular Full-Time Location: Glassboro, New Jersey Categories: Professional The Project Manager is a pivotal role within the university's Web Strategy and Development team. They are responsible for ensuring the successful execution of all digital web initiatives, where they blend project management expertise along with a working knowledge of web development principles. They'll act as a crucial link between development, content strategy, university partners, and internal/external stakeholders. The position reports to the Director of Web Strategy and Development in the Rowan University Division of Marketing & Communication and will serve as a key support to the director. Some evening, weekend, and holiday work is to be expected. Candidates must follow the residency requirements outlined by the New Jersey AFT. Essential Position Responsibilities/FunctionsApply knowledge of web strategy and technology for initial project triage. Support execution of web initiatives (e.g., site rebranding, content reorganizations, new feature builds), ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget. Maintain clear, proactive, and timely communication with all stakeholders regarding project status, changes, risks, and successful deployment. Coordinate project discovery and all project meetings. Work with internal teams to identify requirements and draft project scopes. Manage project schedules, timelines, and stakeholder expectations. Draft work summaries, build dashboards, and provide progress updates. Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives. Coordinate with external web vendors, including technical requirements, timelines, and deliverables for integrated projects. QualificationsRequiredA master's degree in project management, business, communications, information technology, or related degree, OR a bachelor's degree in those disciplines and an industry certification. Three (3) to five (5) years of professional experience working as a project manager or similar role. Deep understanding of project management tools and task managers. Experience translating requirements between technical and non-technical stakeholders to create user stories and business requirements. Understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, testing, and deployment). Ability to work independently and solve problems with minimal supervision. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong customer service orientation. PreferredAn industry certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM). Knowledge working in project management tools such as Wrike and GitHub. Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment. Familiarity with front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Familiarity with content management systems such as Cascade, Drupal, or WordPress. Experience supporting web systems in a higher education environment. Proven ability to stay current with rapidly-changing technologies. Salary: In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is AFT: Range 24, ($73,899.91 to $84,980.25), with placement within the range determined by candidate's qualifications, professional experience, internal equity, and other factors. For internal applicants, salary is determined per the Pay Adjustment formula (NJAC 4A:3-4.9 & 4.10).
