About the job Field Director Job Description: Tim Flaherty's campaign for Cambridge City Council is hiring a Field Director to lead its voter outreach and grassroots organizing operation. This role is ideal for a highly motivated, strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, community-driven environment. The Field Director will oversee all aspects of field operations, from volunteer recruitment and training to voter engagement and Get-Out-The-Vote (GOTV) execution. You'll work closely with the Campaign Manager and candidate to build a people-powered campaign that reaches voters at the doors, on the phones, and online. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement a robust field plan aligned with campaign goals and Cambridge's unique electorate. Recruit, train, and manage a team of volunteers and paid canvassers. Build strong neighborhood-based field teams across Cambridge's diverse communities. Organize regular canvases, phone/text banks, visibility events, and community outreach efforts. Manage VAN to identify persuadable and mobilizable voters and track voter contact.
