Hunt Forest Products, LLC is seeking a Procurement Forester to join our team at our state-of-the-art mill in Pollock, La. This position may work independently or with a team in managing, conserving, and harvesting forests.The successful candidate will coordinate closely with others during loading/unloading of forest products or machinery and is responsible for the safe and efficient transport of wood products and the machinery used to manage the forest.Role & Responsibilities: Ensure a steady and cost-effective raw material supplyDevelop and maintain supply agreements with Landowners and SuppliersReconnaissance of Stumpage Sales/Gatewood and Tract PricingMaintain knowledge of current timber markets/regularly scheduled reporting of log prices, availability, and market conditionsManage log inventory/Work with Procurement Manager to ensure log quality and specificationCoordinate Log Flow with other Procurement Managers and Woodflow Manager at Hunt Forest Products, LLC facilitiesPromote and maintain a safe work environmentSFI Fiber Sourcing Certification-Monitor and ensure compliance of SFI ObjectivesAssist with internal and annual audits for SFI Fiber Source CertificationReports to Procurement ManagerModerate travel required Preferred Skills: Strong Interpersonal and Communication SkillsFamiliar with common data and industry analytical tools such as Microsoft Office and Forest 2 Market/TimberMart SouthTeam Building and Safety Oriented Qualifications and Educational Requirements: Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry from an SAF Accredited University Preferred3 years Forestry experience requiredKnowledge and Experience with Forest Certification/SFI, FSC, and American Tree Farm PreferredTimber Procurement Experience desired Compensation: Salary based on experience and qualifications; excellent benefits package.
