Uphold School District U-46 ICARE Standards. Perform duties and activities under direct supervision of a certified staff member. Adhere to published policies and procedures distributed by the district and school. Maintain confidentiality of student, staff and department information within the school and community. Job Duties / Responsibilities Implement individual or small group instruction under the direction and/or supervision of a certified teacher. Collaborate with the teacher, prepare and maintain materials. Familiarize self with goals and objectives for individual students in the classroom. Facilitate implementation of behavioral programs and procedures. Document student behavior and learning as directed by the teacher. Help in loading and unloading student buses during assigned work hours. Escort students as directed by the classroom teacher. Lift, transfer, position, toilet, etc. Attend staff meetings and staff development activities as assigned. Other duties as assigned. Education Paraprofessional Educator License, Professional Educator or Provisional Educator License required. Minimum education requirement for a Paraprofessional Educator License is: associates degree or higher, completion of at least 60 semester hours of college course work or a high school diploma or GED with a passing score on the ETS Para Pro exam or two specific Work Keys exams. Bilingual - Spanish/English (written/verbal) preferred. Certain assignments require Bilingual - Spanish/English. Experience / Knowledge Effective communication skills. Experience working with students in an educational setting preferred. Physical Demands Lift, transfer, position, toileting etc. (for special skills positions only). Excellent physical agility and quick response time. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Terms of Employment This is a 10-month position; 7 hours per day Salary and benefits as established by the Board of Education and set forth in the collective bargaining agreement as applicable.
