Job ID: 43489BR Business Unit: TSU Job Description: CDM Smith is searching for a seasoned Engineer or Technical Construction Expert to take on the role of Remedial Action Lead Specialist. In this vital leadership position, you will be instrumental in evolving remedial action strategies, applying advanced technologies, nurturing staff growth, and elevating CDM Smith's reputation to boost client satisfaction and drive sales. Key Responsibilities: Project Leadership: Direct the design, execution, and management of effective remedial solutions for complex sites including soil, groundwater, sediments, and surface water at industrial, commercial, and Superfund locations. Utilize both traditional and innovative technologies to achieve the best remediation results. Technical Excellence: Create and enhance conceptual site models (CSMs), assess remediation options, and ensure the implementation of effective treatment technologies such as contaminant capture or destruction, and removal and stabilization for solids and water treatment systems. Design Engineering Framework: Promote and apply CDM Smith's design engineering practices through all project phases, ensuring quality, consistency, and adherence to internal standards. Design-Build Experience: Lead or support the design-build process of remediation systems from conception to construction and commissioning, highlighting successful project implementations. Intellectual Property Management: Oversee the crafting, management, and organization of engineering design drawings, specifications, and templates, ensuring accessibility through the Technical Knowledge Portal (TKP). Business Development: Work alongside sales and marketing teams to uncover growth opportunities, assist in proposal development, and contribute to marketing materials. Actively position CDM Smith for upcoming client projects. Mentoring and Staff Development: Guide junior and mid-level employees, facilitate knowledge sharing, and support professional development through the Technical Specialist Development Program. Encourage involvement in conferences and publications. Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure all project activities comply with company policies, regulatory requirements (CERCLA, RCRA, and state laws), and industry best practices. Thought Leadership: Present technical findings at conferences, webinars, and internal discipline discussions. Contribute to publications and R&D efforts to enhance the remedial action field. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related field. Professional engineering (PE) license. 12 years of relevant experience. Willingness to travel domestically or internationally as required based on project needs. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in relevant field. Experience with advanced data analytics and modeling tools. Well-recognized industry authority with a history of presentations and publications. Strong background in mentoring and team leadership. Deep understanding of remedial technologies, regulatory frameworks, and project management. Preferred experience in design-build projects related to remediation systems. Pay Range: Minimum: $120,973 | Maximum: $211,723 Additional Compensation: Bonuses are discretionary and may or may not apply.
