Job Description

The Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer is crucial in supporting ongoing projects that involve the installation, testing, and implementation of new operating systems and system software. This role also focuses on the maintenance and debugging of systems software. The ideal candidate will have functional knowledge of CMOD components and in-depth experience with support products such as tape management, scheduling, security, and monitoring systems. Key Areas of Focus for this Role Monitoring database space usage. Managing archive storage space utilization. Executing print migrations during upgrades. Setting up print retention policies. Defining system printers for Content Manager OnDemand. Creating and managing Applications, Application Groups, Folders, and Cabinets. Scheduling jobs to maintain the database, cache, and archive storage. Utilizing Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS & OPC). Collaborating with users to establish report indexing and retrieval needs. Defining reports within the system. Establishing Content Manager OnDemand groups and user permissions. Setting up user security. Loading reports onto the system. Assisting in managing backup and recovery processes for databases and data storage areas. Troubleshooting Server, Network, and Application issues. Providing answers to end-user inquiries. Developing and enforcing security and audit policies, like maintaining passwords and permissions, and using OnDemand's audit features to monitor application group and user activity. What the Ideal Candidate Brings to this Role Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in CMOD, specifically with OAM Administration. Strong knowledge of Disaster Recovery Procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to manage priorities in a dynamic environment. Proficient communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively. Ability to respond to critical situations promptly and adapt quickly to established processes and procedures. Familiarity with installation and configuration of IBM CMOD in a Mainframe environment, including managing production settings. Experience configuring CMOD components in a highly available mode. Understanding of CMOD architecture and various deployment strategies. Experience migrating CMOD applications between environments. Skills in fine-tuning CMOD environments and troubleshooting performance issues. Exceptional troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and integration challenges. Other Qualifications: Capability to perform Mainframe System Programmer tasks. Experience in a collaborative multi-client environment. Ability to mentor others and demonstrate leadership qualities. As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this role is $85,000 to $148,000 annually based on a full-time schedule, with additional compensation programs available based on eligibility.
