Job Description The Director of Nursing (DON) oversees all nursing services at Park View Haven, providing leadership, guidance, and support to the nursing team while ensuring high-quality, compassionate resident care. This role balances clinical oversight with hands-on leadership and plays an important part in shaping the culture, stability, and day-to-day operations of the facility. The DON works closely with staff, residents, families, and leadership and is a visible, trusted presence in the building. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff to ensure consistent, resident-focused care. Develop, implement, and review individualized care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Oversee staffing and scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage and continuity of care. Review clinical documentation to maintain compliance with Medicare and regulatory standards. Provide guidance related to hospice and end-of-life care, supporting dignity and comfort. Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment that supports collaboration and growth. Partner with other departments to ensure clear communication and coordinated resident care. Stay current on best practices and regulatory changes impacting long-term care nursing. Qualifications Active Nebraska RN license (required). Significant clinical nursing experience, preferably in long-term care or skilled nursing. Previous experience in a nursing leadership or supervisory role. Working knowledge of care planning, documentation standards, and Medicare regulations. Strong communication skills. Hospice experience preferred, but not required. CPR certification (required).
