ABOUT THE ROLE The Group Supervisor - Production will direct and manage all production department operations with overall responsibility for production, quality and other production related activities. COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE Salaried (based on experience) Monday-Friday, Full-Time, Exempt WHAT YOU WILL DO Provide troubleshooting support to Floor Supervisors, Line Supervisors and operators. Enforce Safety standards Enforce Quality standards Ensure the overall cleanliness and safety of the production floor. Provide direction to floor supervisors Maintain confidentiality in regards to sensitive company information Minimize internal scrap and returned orders Monitor scrap reports Make necessary changes to processes and procedures to reduce scrap Provide feedback to line supervisors regarding individual scrap producers Improve Process efficiency Investigate new processes and procedures, and make recommendations Research new equipment, inks, technologies to improve quality and reduce down time Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries-control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses. Develop and train production employees Identify individual training needs Oversee production employee training program Coordinate production activities through planning with department managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner. Works with Plant Manager to develop and control profits, plans and budget. Monitors overall production performance for efficiency, on-time shipments and quality standards. KEY RELATIONSHIPS Reports directly to the Plant Manager. This relationship is critical. A high level of trust between the Plant Manager and the Production Supervisor is required to ensure programmatic success. Oversees the efforts of Floor and Line Supervisors. Trusting, respectful relationships are essential. Strong, trusting, supportive and cooperative relationships with all co-workers, supervisors, etc. are essential to success. Three to five years' experience in a similar position. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS In performing this job, the employee must stand and walk for an 8+ hour shift. Additionally, the position requires frequent grasping, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and handling of items with hands and arms, up to 50 lbs. Moderate hand-eye coordination, near vision, far vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, adjusting focus and hearing. WORKING ENVIRONMENT The job will be performed in the warehouse where conditions can range from warm to cool. The job will be performed around warehouse machines and equipment with a moderate level of noise.
