About the Job The Senior Product Developer will serve a critical role in the development and costing of key categories for the Hurley brand with overseas factories. This position will communicate with design, merchandising and production teams with in season product, new projects, manage timelines, and product approvals. The Senior Product Developer reviews product designs, test new concepts/applications, work with overseas factories on making sure samples are shipped in timely manner based on calendar dates. The main goal of the Senior Product Developer is to develop a high-quality standard product while maintaining and managing costs, following dates on calendar and managing overseas vendors thru the development process. What You Will Do: Communicates daily with overseas vendors on all product development matters. Plans and coordinates development activities to ensure timely completion (submittals, sampling, etc.). Assist in the process from seasonal development of product to manufacturing process. Ensures design vision and product integrity standards are met while adhering to the product development calendar Develops best practices to optimize product development procedures. Maintains consistency and accuracy of information flow between design, development and overseas vendors. Partner with manager to understand vendor strategy and support factory allocations and development process for all styles and coordinates with management to make critical decisions related to development & production. Liaison between design and vendor for all product development Partner with compliance teams to maintain fabric testing standards Support manager in weekly cross functional WIP meetings and to establish target costs Creates and maintains SMS fabric charts for all business channels Track status of SMS yardages and escalate issues Monitor calendar and engage cross functional teams to ensure all key dates are met Maintain fabric development & fabric cost charts: valid till dates Provides project status updates to management on periodic basis. Organize and maintains materials for design & development teams Perform any other duties as assigned in support of the company needs and operations. Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor's degree in fashion or related area and a minimum 4+ years of experience in apparel product development. Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office and Adobe, database systems, email and internet. Excellent written and verbal skills as required for effective interpersonal communication with clients and other employees. Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks and workload seamlessly with keen attention to detail and follow-up. Experience working in a fast-paced environment and ability to apply good work habits to effectively complete assigned tasks and contribute to the smooth operation of the company.
