Position Summary: The Senior R&D Project Leader is crucial for driving the successful execution of product development projects as prioritized by the Program Directors. This role requires comprehensive planning, coordination, and leadership to meet project goals and objectives within set timelines and budgets. An engineering background is essential for effectively managing and contributing to the development of innovative products. You will oversee a blend of new product development, product expansions, and updates to existing products. Key Responsibilities: Lead assigned product development projects, adhering to established processes and standards. Inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives. Balance electrical, mechanical, and software development at the system level. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, even in areas outside of technical expertise. Develop comprehensive project plans and timelines. Oversee product requirements and traceability. Guide design reviews and risk management efforts. Collaborate with technical partners and vendors during product development. Utilize problem-solving skills to identify issues, assess impacts, and create mitigation strategies. Engage effectively through strong interpersonal and communication skills. Prepare necessary project documentation and facilitate team meetings. Education and Experience Requirements: BS degree in Engineering is a must. Advanced degree is preferred. A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing technical product development. Experience with capital equipment development in the medical device sector. At least 10 years of experience in engineering, ideally within the medical device industry. PMP certification is a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Familiarity with global standards and regulations for Design Controls, Risk Management, and Electrical Safety in Medical Devices. Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects successfully within defined timelines and budgets. Understanding of electrical, mechanical, and software engineering practices at the system level. Experience with Scrum and Agile methodologies. Knowledge of fluid mechanics or experience with ventilators/aspirators is advantageous. This position also qualifies for an annual bonus under the company’s bonus program. The factors that may influence starting salary include geographic location, skills, education, and experience.
