As the Drug Department Manager, you will be responsible for achieving sales and profit goals while ensuring quality assurance standards are maintained. Your leadership will foster an atmosphere of respect, integrity, and safety, aligning with our core company values. Responsibilities Promote trust and respect among team members. Communicate effectively with associates about company policies and procedures. Set performance goals and motivate associates to surpass them. Manage scheduling to optimize service during peak customer hours. Train and develop team members and be actively involved in performance evaluations. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, along with company policies. Create a welcoming environment for customers, addressing their inquiries about products with enthusiasm. Stay informed about products in our department to make knowledgeable recommendations. Introduce customers to new items by offering samples. Keep customers updated on promotional deals within the department. Exude a positive attitude that enhances the shopping experience. Collaborate with store management to develop and implement business plans for the department. Maintain thorough knowledge of the store layout to assist customers in product location. Keep associates informed about current and upcoming promotions. Prepare seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor. Implement the promotional plan effectively within the department. Monitor department expenses and take steps to control costs. Assist store management in preparing budget and financial reviews while taking necessary actions based on reports. Oversee inventory conditions and report any discrepancies. Coordinate pricing updates and promotional signage. Organize and supervise inventory processes. Train associates on effective inventory management and ordering systems. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and address any unsafe conditions. Perform regular maintenance checks on equipment and report any issues that require attention. Document any accidents involving customers or staff. Report safety risks, including theft or fraud. Cooperate effectively in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment. Manage conflicts in a calm and constructive manner. Uphold honesty and integrity in all business dealings. Seek assistance when needed to resolve challenges effectively. Provide compassionate support to diverse customer groups, including minors and individuals with special needs. Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications Effective communication skills. Basic math proficiency. Aptitude to manage stressful situations. Desired High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior management experience preferred. Experience in a drug department highly valued. Experience in retail is advantageous. Ability to communicate in a second language is a plus.
