The Camp Nurse is a full-time, on-site medical professional responsible for overseeing the health and wellness of campers and staff throughout the summer season. Living on Camp, in a private on-site apartment within the Health Center, the nurse will manage daily medication distribution, respond to medical needs and emergencies, maintain health records, and collaborate closely with the Camp Safety Director and Health Center Consultant to ensure a safe and supportive camp environment. Dates of Employment The Camp Nurse position requires full-time on-site presence for the duration of the summer program. Specific start and end dates will be provided during the hiring process and may include pre-camp training and post-camp wrap-up. Key Responsibilities Provide continuous, on-site medical care and support for campers and staff Administer and document medications three times daily Triage and manage illnesses, injuries, and other health-related concerns Maintain up-to-date and accurate health records, treatment logs, and communication with families as needed Refer individuals to local healthcare providers when appropriate Maintain a clean and organized Health Center environment Serve as a key member of the camp leadership team and uphold Fiver’s mission and values in all aspects of work Qualifications Must hold a current New York State license as an RN, LPN, EMT or related Experience working with children and adolescents, especially in a camp, school, or similar setting Preferred Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to live on-site and work flexible hours in a residential camp environment Fiver offers a $100 referral bonus in the first paycheck for every counselor/staff member that you refer, is hired, & arrives at camp for staff training.
