Responsibilities Foster trust and respect among associates. Clearly communicate company and departmental information to associates. Set performance goals and empower team members to achieve targets. Develop schedules that efficiently manage customer flow during operating hours. Train and mentor associates, participating in their performance appraisals. Comply with all local, state, and federal laws as well as company policies. Create a welcoming atmosphere for customers, addressing inquiries about products. Stay informed about our product offerings and advise customers on their choices. Engage customers by offering product samples. Keep customers informed about current Drug GM promotions. Maintain a positive attitude in all interactions. Collaborate with store management to develop and implement a strategic department business plan. Become familiar with the store layout to assist customers effectively. Educate associates on in-store promotions and upcoming sales. Compile seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor. Execute promotional plans for the department. Monitor expenses and adjust as necessary to stay within budget. Assist in budget preparation and profit/loss reviews, analyzing financial data for improvements. Oversee inventory and identify discrepancies. Ensure timely updates of pricing and promotional materials. Organize and supervise inventory processes. Train associates on inventory management and ordering systems. Promote safety compliance and address unsafe conditions. Conduct preventive maintenance checks on equipment and report any issues. Address customer and employee safety incidents promptly. Report all safety concerns and illegal activities. Work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing stress. Resolve conflicts in a cooperative and non-confrontational manner. Maintain integrity regarding customer and business information. Follow directions and seek help when necessary to address issues. Provide assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults. Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications Strong communication skills. Basic math proficiency. Ability to handle stressful situations gracefully. Desired High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Management experience is a plus. Experience in General Merchandise or related fields. Retail experience preferred. Bilingual skills (speaking, reading, writing) are a plus.
