Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Ripon, Wisconsin Full-Time | Food Manufacturing Maintenance Openings 1 Opening Compensation $28.00 to $34.00 per hr depending on experience Overtime available during peak production season Schedule Primary schedule is 1st shift outside of pack season. During pack season, mechanics may rotate to night shift depending on production demands. Pack season runs from late June through mid-November with peak production July through September. Daily overtime is common during peak production. Position Overview A long-standing food manufacturing facility in Ripon, WI is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to support production equipment reliability. The plant processes vegetables using semi-automated canning equipment and operates both year-round and seasonal production lines. Maintenance mechanics play a critical role in troubleshooting equipment breakdowns, performing preventative maintenance, and supporting continuous plant operations during harvest season. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot mechanical failures in production equipment Repair and maintain conveyor systems, pumps, motors, and drive systems Replace bearings, chains, sprockets, and gearboxes Perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment Assist with equipment installations and modifications Perform welding, fabrication, and mechanical rebuilds Read blueprints and mechanical drawings Maintain maintenance logs and equipment records Support maintenance during production outages and equipment failures Assist electrical team when needed during major repairs Required Skills Mechanical power transmission knowledge Chains, sprockets, gearboxes, bearings Basic pneumatic systems Basic hydraulic systems Mechanical troubleshooting ability Ability to work safely in production environment Preferred Skills Welding Machining Fabrication PLC awareness Food manufacturing maintenance experience Ideal Background Industrial maintenance mechanic Manufacturing maintenance technician Food processing maintenance technician Packaging equipment mechanic Power plant maintenance technician Candidates from automotive, heavy equipment, or machine shop backgrounds are also considered.
