Our client in Washington, DC is seeking a Field Support Technician to join their IT operations team, providing hands-on technical support across multiple locations including field offices and onboard train environments. This role focuses on imaging, configuring, and maintaining Windows-based systems and POS equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system deployments, troubleshooting, and supporting mobile and connected devices. This is a dynamic, fast-paced role that requires technical proficiency, clear communication skills, and the ability to travel as needed. Key Responsibilities: Deploy and configure Windows OS, including system imaging, application installations, BIOS/driver updates, and patch management. Support installation and configuration of SQL Server on endpoints. Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including tablets, peripherals, and POS systems. Set up and resolve connectivity issues for Wi-Fi and cellular networks. Maintain and update systems using Microsoft Intune and SCCM. Assist in writing, editing, and maintaining technical documentation and procedures. Execute and troubleshoot PowerShell scripts (experience preferred). Provide on-site technical support at crew bases and aboard trains as needed. Lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users.
