Job Details This role supports Cencora's veterinary and livestock production solutions, marketed through our MWI Animal Health business, a leading global brand in animal health services. As a Logistics Operations Specialist, you will work under the guidance of the Corporate Transportation Director to analyze and enhance our transportation processes and customer delivery systems across various modalities including parcel, LTL (less than truckload), FTL (full truckload), and carrier deliveries that have local, regional, and national implications. You will ensure alignment between carrier performance and Cencora objectives while recommending strategies to optimize costs. Oversee the courier base, managing daily deliveries to our customer base and addressing any issues that arise. Collaborate closely with carrier partners, distribution centers, and internal departments to resolve claims, payment issues, and delivery challenges. Partner with Commercial Sales teams to integrate new customer opportunities into delivery initiatives. Monitor and report on the status of all outbound shipments daily. Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure adherence to delivery policies and procedures. Create and maintain a dashboard to analyze transportation key performance indicators (KPIs). Work with carrier partners and Transportation Managers to enhance performance metrics, managed through carrier scorecards. Utilize various transportation management systems such as WMS, TMS, and Power BI for data acquisition and analysis. Analyze freight and lane characteristics to ensure optimal carrier assignment for customer deliveries. Continuously improve business processes by providing data-driven insights and initiatives that enhance cost-effectiveness and customer experience. Support the onboarding of new carriers and technology partners as needed. Assist in managing carrier contracts and maintaining an inspection database. Help prepare data for transportation requests for proposals (RFPs) and carrier conversions. Conduct audits of carrier hubs in person and remotely as necessary. Carry out uploads for routing, sourcing policies, and Manner of Transport (MOT) as directed by Transportation Managers. Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in logistics, business administration, or related fields is required. Experience with RFP and RFQ preparation and response in a transportation context is essential. Logistics knowledge, especially transportation experience, is preferred. Ability to effectively communicate and present information at all organizational levels, from hourly employees to management. Competence in reading and interpreting technical and financial documents is necessary. Skills and Knowledge: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Familiarity with company policies and procedures is beneficial. Excellent negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills are required. Strong mathematical aptitude and attention to detail are important. Skills in project management tools such as Microsoft Project are a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Access, including database creation and reporting, is required. Salary Range The salary range for this position is $74,000 - $105,820, reflecting a national average. Actual salaries may vary based on location.
