THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE: The Senior Network Operations Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of Ulta's enterprise network across corporate, distribution, and retail environments. You will oversee day-to-day network operations, ensuring stability and performance while driving incident response and continuous improvement. This role requires establishing operational standards, contributing to architectural direction, and collaborating with Enterprise and Infrastructure Architecture teams to deliver scalable and resilient solutions. YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY: Network Operations and Support: Lead day-to-day operational support for Ulta’s enterprise network, develop procedures, and provide senior-level troubleshooting and resolution of network issues. Network Design & Operational Readiness: Participate in reviewing network architectures and configurations, ensuring they are operationally ready and resilient. Incident Management: Lead escalated network incidents and coordinate service restoration efforts while managing post-incident documentation and analysis. Change Management: Evaluate risk and impact associated with network changes and lead change planning in accordance with established procedures. IT Infrastructure Operations: Provide expertise in executing operational procedures such as patching, monitoring, and capacity planning. Monitoring, Analytics & Continuous Improvement: Enhance network monitoring capabilities and identify improvements for incident response and operational workflows. Lifecycle Management: Support network lifecycle activities, ensuring smooth introduction of new technologies into operations. Vendor & MSP Coordination: Collaborate with service providers and vendors to resolve incidents and improve service quality. Operational Standards, Compliance & Documentation: Contribute to and enforce operational procedures and compliance requirements. Technical Leadership & Mentoring: Provide leadership and mentoring to network engineers, influencing operational standards and best practices. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Design and deploy enterprise LAN, WAN, and WLAN solutions. Work closely with IT and business teams to develop efficient and supportable network solutions. Ensure operations of enterprise-level network hardware, maximizing performance and minimizing downtime. Evaluate opportunities for network performance improvements. Collaborate with teams to deliver infrastructure services for enterprise applications. Interface with customers and vendors to define system requirements. Lead automation efforts in network operations. Conduct project management activities related to IT infrastructure. Perform network consulting and research and development activities. Define budget requirements and make performance improvement recommendations. ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field with 7+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering or operations. Deep expertise in routing, switching, WLAN, and troubleshooting (Cisco preferred). Experience in supporting distributed or retail environments across multiple sites. Proficiency with monitoring tools and performance tuning. Experience with MSPs, carriers, and vendors. Understanding of ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management practices. Excellent communication and escalation management skills. Experience mentoring or coaching other engineers. Ability to handle high-pressure incident situations and work in a 24x7 on-call rotation. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in large retail or multisite operations. Exposure to enterprise-scale WLAN technologies. Experience with network automation tools like Python or Ansible. Familiarity with cloud connectivity and hybrid network models. Relevant certifications (CCNP, CCDP, or equivalent). Knowledge of analytics and observability technologies. The pay range for this position is $102,900.00 - $142,000.00 / Year, with additional compensation potential through the Company's bonus plan.
