Instructor or Assistant Professor of Business Management, Leadership & AI in Business Position Overview William Jewell College invites applications for an Instructor or Assistant Professor of Business with emphasis in management, leadership, entrepreneurship and business applications of AI. This is a full-time, two-year term position beginning August 2026, with potential for renewal and conversion to tenure-track. Rank and tenure-track eligibility will be determined based on qualifications and experience. This position offers the opportunity to: • Shape how a new generation of business leaders understands and leverages AI as a general purpose technology • Teach across the business curriculum with flexibility to develop innovative courses at the intersection of management, leadership, entrepreneurship and emerging technologies • Engage deeply with undergraduate students through teaching, advising, research mentorship, and co-curricular involvement • Contribute to a collaborative department culture focused on teaching excellence and continuous program innovation Qualifications Required: • Master's degree (MA or MBA) in Business, Management, or closely related field AND significant professional experience in business management, leadership, or organizational development • Demonstrated ability or strong potential to teach effectively across the undergraduate business curriculum, including courses in management, leadership, business law, and AI applications in business • Commitment to undergraduate teaching excellence and student-centered pedagogy • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented academic environment Preferred: • Ph.D. in Business, Management, Organizational Leadership, or related field • Experience integrating AI tools and concepts into business education or professional practice • Experience with curriculum development and program assessment • Record of scholarly activity, professional consulting, or applied research relevant to business education Primary Responsibilities Teaching (up to 24 contact hours per academic year): • Deliver high-quality instruction in management, leadership, business law, and AI-related business courses • Develop and maintain contemporary, engaging curriculum that prepares students for evolving workplace demands • Create effective assessments that measure student learning outcomes and inform continuous improvement Scholarly and Professional Development: • Maintain an active program of scholarly activity, which may include traditional academic research, consulting work, applied projects, or other forms of professional engagement • Stay current with developments in business practice, management theory, and educational innovation Student Engagement and Mentorship: • Provide academic advising to business students • Support student research, independent studies, and co-curricular activities • Engage with student organizations and professional development initiatives Service: • Participate actively in departmental and institutional committees • Contribute to college-wide initiatives and community engagement as appropriate Note: The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
