Establish departmental regulations, develop operational standards, and maintain quality dining services within budget. Design menus and determine food quality and quantity, controlling food costs effectively. Supervise food preparation and cooking, ensuring adherence to safety and sanitation standards. Conduct regular inspections of food service areas to ensure compliance with food safety regulations. Create staff schedules, cleaning schedules, and manage inventory of food and non-food items. Provide training and orientation for new employees, promoting a collaborative team environment. Implement and maintain a cost control system; prepare and submit the department budget to senior management. Offer nutrition education and counseling for residents, enhancing their dining experience. Promote continuous quality improvement in dining services. Supervise staff, handling performance evaluations, hiring, and training in accordance with organizational policies. Stay current with certifications and participate in ongoing education and training programs. Adapt to other duties as assigned, to better serve our community. High school diploma or GED preferred. 2-4 years of experience in a commercial kitchen and supervisory roles preferred. Strong communication skills; must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Residency focus and ability to work compassionately with residents and staff.
