About Stout's Forensics and Compliance Group Stout's Forensics and Compliance group is dedicated to helping organizations navigate complex compliance, investigative, and regulatory challenges. Your Role As an Analyst, you will actively engage in client projects, working independently and alongside senior colleagues. Your responsibilities will include: Executing client engagements related to healthcare billing, coding, reimbursement, and revenue cycle operations. Conducting detailed forensic analyses and compliance reviews to detect fraud, waste, abuse, and inefficiencies. Documenting and analyzing EMR/EHR hospital billing workflows (e.g., Epic Resolute), including charge capture, claims processing, and reimbursement logic. Assisting in audits, investigations, and litigation support, which includes gathering evidence, identifying issues, and planning corrective actions. Collaborating with Stout teams, client compliance functions, legal counsel, and leadership to meet project objectives. Supporting EMR/EHR implementations and optimization efforts, covering system testing, data validation, and post-go-live support. Preparing concise and well-organized analyses, reports, and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations for clients. Maintaining proactive communication with managers and project teams for alignment and timely delivery. Continuously developing your technical and consulting skills while building strong credibility with clients. Staying updated on healthcare regulations, payer rules, EMR/EHR trends, and industry changes impacting compliance and reimbursement. Contributing to internal knowledge sharing, thought leadership, and growth initiatives within Stout's Healthcare Consulting team. What You Bring A Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Accounting, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred. At least two years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations, EMR/EHR implementations, or related consulting roles. Experience in consulting engagements, audits, or investigations focused on billing, coding, reimbursement, or compliance. Familiarity with Epic Resolute or other hospital billing systems is preferred, and Epic certification is a plus. A nationally recognized coding credential (e.g., CCS, CPC, RHIA, RHIT) is required. Additional certifications such as CHC, CFE, or AHFI are preferred. Working knowledge of EMR/EHR configuration, workflows, and optimization. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with Visio, SharePoint, Tableau, or Power BI is preferred. Understanding of key healthcare regulatory frameworks, including CMS regulations, HIPAA, and the False Claims Act. Willingness to travel up to 25% based on project needs.
