Advanced Imaging Scheduler Imaging Associates is seeking a full time Advanced Imaging Scheduler to join our dynamic and energetic front desk with reception and scheduling duties. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position that requires rotations to both our Anchorage location and Eagle River location. This position provides an opportunity to work 8-hour or 10-hour shifts to provide a balance of work and personal life. This position will coordinate patient scheduling for advanced imaging services, with a focus on all imaging modalities offered (including mammography, ultrasound, MRI, CT, X-ray, and others). This position will handle incoming calls/ make outgoing calls for the practice and work directly with Technologists, Radiologists, and other modality teams to ensure seamless patient flow, procedure preparation, coordination between modalities. Qualifications Education or coursework in medical terminology, anatomy, and/or radiology-specific systems (RIS, RIS/MIS platforms) required. Some college or equivalent combination of education and experience required. 1-3 years medical office and registration/scheduling experience is preferred, ideally in an imaging setting. Experience with medical pre-authorizations. Experience with multi-line telephone system, personal computers, and other common office equipment required. Radiology Information System (RIS) experience is preferred. Familiarity with working alongside clinical staff, such as technologists or coordinators, and coordinating between multiple modalities is highly desirable. Must be able to demonstrate good customer service skills; do multiple tasks with frequent interruptions; and work flexible shifts. Must be able to apply basic math skills. Rotations to our Anchorage and Eagle River locations and regular attendance are absolute requirements of this position. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Job Duties Include Patient Scheduling: Accurately schedules any and all diagnostic procedures and exams across all modalities performed at the group practice. Explains pre-exam requirements and procedures, coordinating directly with Technologists, Radiologists, and other modality teams to align availability, patient needs, and inter-modality workflows. Patient Registration: Accurately schedules any and all diagnostic procedures and exams across all modalities performed at the group practice. Explains pre-exam requirements and procedures, coordinating directly with Technologists, Radiologists, and other modality teams to align availability, patient needs, and inter-modality workflows. Communications: Demonstrates excellent customer service skills in all interactions with physicians, patients, Technologists, Radiologists, other modality staff, and practice personnel. Answers all incoming calls using good phone etiquette. Answers questions related to imaging services, refers calls to proper person (including Technologists, Radiologists, or other modality staff as needed), or takes messages Written Communication: Responsible for processing and updating patient information, including sharing updates with Technologists, Radiologists, and modality teams via electronic systems or reports. Computer Skills: Operates a variety of office equipment, including, but not limited to; printers, copiers, hospital computer system, and radiology-specific software for scheduling and tracking breast care procedures across modalities. Team Collaboration: Works directly with Technologists to confirm procedure readiness, manage daily schedules, and address any technical or patient-specific concerns. Collaborates with Radiologists on patient navigation, follow-up appointments, and care coordination to support comprehensive imaging services. Coordinates scheduling and handoffs between different modalities to optimize patient care pathways. Implements care/services that recognize age/diversity specific needs/issues of customers served, with emphasis on breast care sensitivity and privacy. Performs other duties as required, such as preparing patient education materials in partnership with techs and BCCs. Competencies: Completes initial and annual competency plan for assigned job and department. Conduct: Demonstrates personal and interpersonal qualities consistent with the Imaging Associates code of conduct (integrity, compliance and ethics in the workplace). Additional clerical tasks assigned at the discretion of the Radiologists or Technologists in the event needed. This is a full time, non-exempt position and is benefit eligible.
