NMC is currently recruiting a Occupational Therapist (OT) in Rehab Services. The position is per diem (varied shifts), hours vary between 7a-6p. Hourly Rate: 31.04 USD to 45.27 USD Occupational Therapist JOB SUMMARY: The Occupational Therapist provides occupational therapy services for inpatients and outpatients across a spectrum of ages and within the continuum of care. Evaluates clients, plans and implements treatment programs which restores, reinforces, and/or enhances performance. PRE-REQUISITES: Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy with current licensure in the State of Vermont. RELATIONSHIPS: Reports To: Rehabilitation Services Director Other Contacts: Patients, families, visitors, providers and their staff, business partners and hospital employees SCOPE: Machinery or Equipment Used: Ambulatory aids, whirlpools, mechanical and static traction, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, isokinetic equipment, iontophorese, CPM, and other patient care equipment. Computer and photocopier. Physical Demands: Frequent, prolonged standing/walking. Lifts, positions, pushes, and/or transfers patients, occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching. Manual dexterity and mobility and moderate physical effort. Working Conditions: May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases, occasional exposure under a wide variety of circumstances. Subject to varying and unpredictable situations. Subject to many interruptions. Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries. Required Protective Equipment: PPE as situation warrants ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Provides exceptional patient care to our community within NMC & AOTA standards of care evidenced by: Flexibility in schedule to meet the needs of our patients Adapts information for diverse populations and environment Advocates for needs of patients Provides care in ethical and legal manner Refers concerns/issues to appropriate resources Protects confidentiality of patients Communicates with patients, team members, and management in an accurate and timely manner Promote NMC Rehab through community outreach event and/or process improvement with cross discipline teamwork 2. Provides efficient patient care within NMC & AOTA standards of care. Meets productivity standards of > or = 67% (solid= average of 67% for 12 running months) 3. Meets documentation standards: Completes timely clinical documentation per documentation policy Complies and follows all payer guidelines/limitations (including plan of cares and recertification's) Complies with re-administration of Outcome measures demonstrating patients are making meaningful progress meeting department expectation of 90% re-admin rate for discharged charts with > or= 8 visits 4. Applies critical thinking skills and considers alternatives. Organizes multitask workload/ Prioritizes tasks Demonstrates problem solving and decision making skills Offers assistance to others in critical thinking and seeks assistance as needed 5. Committed to on-going learning and practice of evidence based medicine. Successful chart audits demonstrating need for skilled services and appropriate treatment progression Up-to-date research on "best practices" evident by contributing to rehab's research article site quarterly 6. Incorporates teaching in delivery service. Provides appropriate information to patient Assesses for barriers to learning Supports the preceptorship program Uses colleagues as a learning resource 7. Manages self and resources effectively. Acknowledges limits of experience and capability Identifies learning needs and seeks resources Utilizes equipment and supplies appropriately Maintains clean, orderly environment of care Seeks out and accepts feedback Requests assistance appropriately 8. Demonstrates the department/job specific skills requisite for patient population served. See job specific competencies (pt population birth to geriatrics) 9. Responsible for research and development of infographics for appropriate topics for companies. 10. Financial Coordinates and collaborates with the business liaison to write new company contracts with pricing. Works with PFS on fee schedules, denials, and obtaining complete worker's comp information needed for billing.
