Job DescriptionTurner & Townsend invite you to join our expanding team in the US (New York, Houston and/or Chicago). As the Procurement Lead, you will initially support a leading developer of renewable energy assets, managing major procurement and contracts management initiatives. However, this is much more than a single client assignment - we're looking for someone to help us establish a strong foundation in the US and, over time, support our growth across the renewable energy sector. The Role As the Procurement Lead, you will support our clients with the procurement and contracts management of key packages for major onshore wind, BESS, utility-scale solar PV, and Power-to-X projects. Your first project will be to support with the development of an onshore wind portfolio and will involve the procurement of wind turbines (WTGs). It is therefore essential that you have experience with this scope and a proven track-record of the negotiation and management of turbine supply agreements (TSAs), as well as other WTG related contracts. Procurement The planning, implementation and execution of procurement and/or tender strategies; Draft and negotiate contracts including service, consultancy, supply and installation contracts. Support and advise JUMBO's clients on ad-hoc issues On a day-to-day basis through the procurement process; tendering, negotiations, and contract execution; you will: Lead and coordinate commercial, technical, financial and legal expertise from both our clients and within JUMBO, while in turn ensuring compliance with our clients governance and approval procedures; Look to provide maximum value to our clients in terms of quality, price and schedule while minimizing risks; Lead and perform the complete procurement process including issuing of requests for information, requests for proposals and tenders, evaluating proposals, recommending the award of and finalising contracts; Ensure that the procurement process is executed according to client policies and procedures, and documented in order to allow transparency and traceability throughout; Identify all value items and their relationship within the scope of the procurement and set the tender strategy according to a well-defined awarding criteria; Coordinate the flow of information internally and externally keeping all stakeholders informed on progress; Finalize the commercial and contractual deal as a basis for the contractual finalization through standard general conditions and/or managing exceptions to those together with legal and the main stakeholders; Achieve maximum value while minimizing delivery, quality and performance risks. Find compromises and solutions to drive negotiations to a close under time pressure; Actively participate in vendor relationship management, including: general communications and regular meetings, maintaining and improving vendor and market knowledge. Contracts Management Drafting and negotiation of main contracts throughout the lifecycle of project development and execution. Work side by side with the project management team to ensure a successful project delivery, balancing risk with solutions that are commercially and contractually viable. Keep a continuous overview over critical milestones, assess and manage rights and obligations according to the contract. Direct and process changes, variations and claims in the project and ensure that the changes are implemented in compliance with our client's commercial interests. Provide interpretation of contracts, organize and process correspondence with contracting parties and monitor fulfilment of contractual obligations. Manage the commercial relationship and communication with contractors during the execution phase of the project keeping a close dialogue with them to ensure that issues are dealt with proactively with diligence and foresight. Ensure timely delivery of the contract within the set mandate. Drive governance processes and required presentation material towards different stakeholders and decision bodies such as the Steering Committee. Contribute to further developing processes regarding contract management. SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable. Qualifications Specific experience with WTG procurement and the negotiation of the turbine supply agreement (TSA), as well as any other turbine related contracts, e.g. service and warranty/maintenance agreements. Knowledge of, and experience in dealing with the WTG OEMs and supply chain (GE Vernova, Vestas, Nordex, Enercon, etc.). On-shore wind experience is essential. US market experience is required. Assume Director/Project Director level. Additional InformationThe salary range for this full-time role is $180K-$200K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package.
