Job Summary: Gateway Transport Center Join our dedicated team at Gateway Transport Center as an Armed Security Officer. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safety and security of our facility, while fostering positive relationships with customers, local law enforcement, and fire departments. Your keen awareness of surroundings will be essential in maintaining a safe environment. Basic Functions: Control entrances and manage pedestrian and vehicle traffic. Conduct regular patrols of buildings and perimeters. Escort materials and personnel as needed. Inspect security and fire safety measures. Assist with special assignments as directed. Responsibilities: Your specific duties will depend on department needs and assignment, but will generally include: Arriving on time and reporting for duty in full uniform. Maintaining a professional appearance and providing excellent customer service to visitors and employees. Keeping updated on post orders and relevant information from management. Patrolling the property or maintaining a fixed post, reporting any suspicious activities, and responding to incidents. Monitoring security cameras and equipment as per post orders. Understanding and following emergency procedures, including responding to alarms and emergency situations. Completing Daily Activity Reports, Log Book entries, and Incident Reports. Offering recommendations to enhance safety and loss prevention practices. Familiarizing yourself with life safety systems and ensuring the operational integrity of security equipment. Meeting training and compliance guidelines set by management and regulatory bodies. Communicating regularly with the Security Supervisor regarding new security concerns or necessary adjustments. Skills and Abilities: Honesty, alertness, and discipline in safeguarding property and ensuring safety. A commitment to constant vigilance and attention to detail. Exceptional customer service skills in alignment with our mission. The capability to handle multiple priorities with urgency and efficiency.
