Job Title This position involves analyzing new ships' configurations to anticipate required logistics support. You will collect, research, identify, and provide logistics data to reflect current shipboard conditions. You will assist design personnel, ship force personnel, planners and estimators with problems in connection with Integrated Logistics support (ILS) configuration and technical documentation. You will collect, review, analyze and create various reports for use in evaluating, documenting and reporting various Integrated Logistics support (ILS) and effectiveness and condition of Fleet units. You will assist higher graded logistics management specialists in providing complete functional configuration and logistics support to fleet units. You will assist other higher graded logistics management specialists in expediting critical material or configuration requirements and in coordinating alternate sources of supply. You will prepare oral and written presentations to effectively explain and document assignment related problems and their solutions. This position requires a US Citizen, determination of suitability for federal employment, participation in the direct deposit pay program, and successful completion of the E-Verify employment verification check. You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. You will spend time aboard Navy ships as a regular and recurring part of the job. This position may require prolonged periods of standing, stooping, crouching, and sitting in confined or cramped quarters, walking on metal decks, and accessing the dry-dock. You will be required to climb ladders and scaffolding. This is a bargaining unit position. You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination. You will work in abnormally hot temperatures onboard ships when ventilation and air conditioning are secured. This position requires good visual acuity. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing logistics management functions by researching, analyzing, and compiling logistics data of shipboard conditions to identify Integrated Logistics Support requirements in order to make recommendations improving supply support for ship maintenance work. For GS-7: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing logistics management functions by researching and compiling logistics data on shipboard conditions to identify problems with Integrated Logistics Support programs for ship maintenance work.
