Job Description

Rheumatology Physician The position is in the Rheumatology department. 4 10-hour shifts per week, Monday through Thursday 8AM - 6PM with Fridays off. Monday would be in our new Totowa campus building Tuesday through Thursday at the Wayne Rheumatology practice The physician would see new patients, then the APN would see patients on subsequent visits The physician would sign off on all notes; this is a very collaborative position. Responsible for overseeing the care of a defined patient population as a dominant aspect of the role and is recognized as an interdisciplinary leader within his/her specialty. Responsible for enacting standards of practice and standards of professional performance, consistently demonstrates the core competencies of advanced practice nursing as well as defined specially competencies. Responsibilities Work requires knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of a master's degree in nursing and three to five years of previous work-related experience. Licensure required as a Registered Nurse by the State of New Jersey. Lifting objects weighting more than 100 pounds. Standing for more than two hours at a time. Stooping or bending Manual dexterity - reach and grasp objects Color vision - the ability to identify and distinguish colors Ability to hear and communicate orally Proofreading and checking documents for accuracy Using a keyboard to enter and transform words or data Using a video display terminal to receive or audit information or data Qualifications Certification required as an Advanced Practice Nurse by the New Jersey Board of Nursing. Successful completion of department specific orientation and department specific certifications such as BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) within 1 year of hire.
