Job Description

Benefits And Compensation Assistant Under direct supervision, the Benefits and Compensation Assistant provides administrative support to the Manager of Benefits and Compensation and the Human Resources Department in the areas of compensation, and benefits. Duties and Responsibilities Provides administrative support to the Vice President of Human Resources. Inputs applicant and employee information into the Human Resources database; runs a variety of ad hoc reports as needed. Generates and distributes monthly reports on employment activity. Provides assistance, as needed during Fixed Route and Connector Operator training classes (i.e. creating materials for new hires). Completes verifications of employment. Types a variety of routine correspondence; proofreads for accuracy. Processes retiree prescription drug reimbursement requests. Processes student loan repayment and tuition reimbursement submissions. Generates PCN notifications and distributes accordingly. Process life insurance claims appropriately and accurately. Accurately maintaining and processing retiree benefit insurance payment submissions. Generate Cobra notifications in compliance with federal laws and regulations. Records daily incoming mail and distributes to appropriate staff. Accurately maintain leave of absence documentation. Maintains personnel records, files material of a confidential nature. Creates ID badges for new employees, dependents and retirees. Provides administrative and clerical support to Human Resources staff as needed. Performs other related duties and projects assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities High school graduate. Three (3) years of administrative experience, Human Resources preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for minimum requirements. Proficient in use of all Microsoft Office Suite Software. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong communication and follow-up skills. Tact and diplomacy in dealing with employees, retirees and the general public. Discretion in handling confidential material.
