Salary: $14.00 Hourly Location : Green River, WY Job Type: Seasonal (Temporary) Job Number: 2024-00052 Department: Public Works Division: Streets Services Opening Date: 03/05/2026 Closing Date: 4/30/2026 5:00 PM Mountain DEFINITION Under direct supervision, perform a variety of general manual labor in the maintenance of City Streets, including weed eradication, asphalt pothole patching, painting traffic markings or other similar functions. Safe operation of a City vehicle is required. These positions are temporary, seasonal employment with successful candidates working 40 hours/week from April/May through August (occasionally through September). SUPERVISION Streets Operations Assistants report to the Streets Services Supervisor, or his/her designee. These positions do not exercise supervision over other staff. EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The following functions & duties are typical for this position. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address City needs and changing business practices. Perform manual labor in the repair and maintenance of streets and public rights-of-way; perform maintenance, housekeeping duties, and /or grounds maintenance around plants and installed appurtenances, such as removing weeds and/or snow from around fire hydrants. Safely handle and use hand and power tools. May occasionally operate a truck or light and medium duty equipment, if qualified, and when specifically authorized by the Division Supervisor or Department Head. Eradicate weeds utilizing manual and motorized equipment. Patch potholes with hot-mix asphalt. Use a paint sprayer to paint designated curbs and parking lines. Perform related job duties and responsibilities as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTSKnowledge of: Labor methods and safety precautions. Ability to: Properly maintain assigned areas. Follow instructions. Perform assigned tasks properly and efficiently. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation, Training and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Formal or informal training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance is required. Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older due to insurance requirements. License/Certification: A valid Wyoming, Class B or Class C driver's license. Essential duties require the following physical skills and work environment: Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, twist, and grasp; lift, carry, push, or pull heavy weights up to 60 lbs. on a regular basis; climb up and down a ladder; exposure to hot, cold, outdoors, chemicals, mechanic hazards; ability to travel to different sites and locations.
