Rights And Contracts Coordinator Or Specialist (IVP) Work Location: Lisle, IL - Intervarsity Press Schedule: Full time To advance the purpose of InterVarsity Press, this position will participate in IVP's rights and contracts team by coordinating assigned tasks related to copyright, licensing, permissions, and/or contracts. Status: Exempt (salaried) Time: Full-time Pay: $43,000-$53,000 annually, depending upon level, skills, and experience Start Date: July 6, 2026 Location: Lisle, IL highly preferred (hybrid work agreement available by arrangement); open to a fully remote hire for an excellent candidate (IVP may not currently hire remote employees in California, Missouri, or outside the United States.) Support IVP's work drafting and processing publishing contracts by: Preparing and processing various types of publishing agreements. Maintaining the accuracy of contract templates and related documents. Organizing documents and files related to contracts and authors. Entering data in IVP's databases related to contracts and authors. Communicating with authors. Communicating with the royalty team. Supports IVP's licensing work by: Preparing and processing various types of licensing agreements. Promoting IVP books to licensing partners. Preparing for book shows and other licensing events or meetings. Sending reading and working copies to licensing partners. Entering data in IVP's databases related to licensing. Organizing documents and files related to licensing. Attending book shows, as needed. Process licensing payments, if needed. Responding to customers requesting permission to use IVP content, if needed. Supporting project editors and authors who need advice regarding obtaining permission to use non-IVP copyrighted materials, if needed. Support IVP's efforts to protect our intellectual property by: Registering copyright for IVP publications. Sending DMCA takedown notices or other communications related to pirated content, as needed. If hired at the Rights and Contracts Specialist level, the following additional responsibilities may be assigned: Reviewing and approving basic agreements. Verifying accuracy of contract terms entered into IVP systems. Assisting with staff development within the Rights and Contracts Team. Depending on skills, fit, and experience, potentially supervising one or more Rights and Contracts staff. Participate in IVP's editorial department by: Communicating with authors, customers, colleagues, and others. Participating in editorial events, as invited. Performing other tasks for the editorial department on request of the Rights & Contracts Manager/Director or Editorial Directors Any other duties as required Qualifications Affirmation of InterVarsity's Statement of Faith. A working knowledge of current Microsoft Software applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) is preferred. Two years' experience specifically related to contracts and/or intellectual property. Effective oral and written communication skills. Excellent administration and organizational skills. Strong communication, relational and customer service skills, written & verbal. Strong sense of responsibility for accuracy and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability and commitment to work in a diverse team environment. Prudence with confidential information. Flexibility for occasional travel for conferences. Flexibility to attend the Urbana Student Missions Conference every six years, Dec. 26-Jan. 1, and National Staff Conference every three years (the year after Urbana), approximately Jan. 2-7. Experience And Educational Requirements A bachelor's degree or equivalent is required. Experience required as described in the section below (dependent on the level of the position posted). Relevant higher education will be taken into account and may reduce the experience required. Levels In Job Family (Posting Will State The Relevant Level At The Beginning Of The Posting) Rights And Contracts Assistant Level 4 The Rights and Contracts Assistant will be primarily focused on administrative support for the Rights and Contracts team. Experience in an administrative support role is preferred. Travel is not required except for the Urbana and Staff Conference requirements. Rights And Contracts Coordinator - Level 5 The Rights and Contracts Coordinator may also retain responsibility for some or all of the responsibilities listed above with a higher degree of responsibility for taking initiative and making decisions regarding assigned areas. This role requires two years of experience in administrative work, with experience related to rights or contracts preferred. Occasional international and/or domestic travel may be required. Rights And Contracts Specialist Level 6 The Rights and Contracts Specialist may be responsible for some or all the above responsibilities, will take initiative to manage assigned areas independently, and will have at least five years of publishing experience and a minimum of two years' experience specifically related to licensing and/or contracts. Occasional international and/or domestic travel may be required. They may assist the Rights and Contracts Manager/Director in mentoring and developing other members of the team and facilitating team meetings and processes. Senior Rights And Contracts Specialist - Level 7 The Senior Rights and Contracts Specialist may be responsible for some or all the above responsibilities and will have four to five years of experience related to rights and/or contracts. Occasional international and/or domestic travel may be required. They will assist the Rights and Contracts Manager/Director in mentoring and developing other members of the team and facilitating team meetings and processes.
