Job Title: Accessibility Compliance Inspector Work Location: Anchorage, AK (JBER) Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview REQUIREMENT- Must be a US Citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screen Duties/Responsibilities: Perform thorough field inspections and assessments of USACE facilities to identify architectural barriers to accessibility, ensuring compliance with applicable standards. Examine various site and building elements, including parking areas, entrances, doorways, restrooms, signage, and paths of travel for adherence to ABA, UFAS, ADA, and other federal and DoD guidelines. Document findings with precise field notes, photographs, measurements, and comprehensive reports. Utilize specialized tools (e.g., digital levels, slope meters, measuring devices) to ensure compliance with accessibility requirements. Prepare detailed written reports outlining deficiencies, non-compliant elements, and recommend corrective actions. Communicate effectively with design teams, facility managers, and USACE representatives to clarify findings and support mitigation strategies. Participate actively in project meetings, offering expert advice on accessibility improvements. Maintain a current understanding of accessibility codes, USACE policies, and federal building requirements. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred). Preferred experience with Federal Projects, specifically with US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). Experience in facility inspection, accessibility assessment, or building code compliance. Strong knowledge of construction practices, materials, and technical specifications. Ability to work independently in diverse field conditions. A certified Accessibility Specialist (CASp) or ICC Accessibility Inspector/Plans Examiner, or similar credential is highly desirable. Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore or Bluebeam. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and digital inspection/reporting tools.
