Salary : $49,459.00 - $69,242.00 Annually Location : Agency Headquarters - Apple Valley, CA Job Type: Full-Time Job Number: 202600001 Department: Administration Opening Date: 03/08/2026 Closing Date: 3/18/2026 11:59 PM Pacific FLSA: Non-Exempt Overview of Role The Administrative Assistant I / Receptionist provides entry-level administrative support focused on front office operations and basic clerical functions. This role serves as the first point of contact for visitors and callers, ensures a welcoming and professional office environment, and supports routine administrative, document, and operational tasks. Working under close supervision and established procedures, the Administrative Assistant I contributes to the efficient daily operations of the Agency. QualificationsCore Responsibilities & Functional CompetenciesCommunication & Stakeholder Management Greets visitors professionally, answers phones courteously, routes calls and inquiries appropriately. Provides basic information about Agency services and office hours. Maintains welcoming front office environment. Document & Records Management Scans, files, and retrieves basic documents. Maintains organized filing systems for front office. Distributes incoming mail. Ensures reception area materials are current and organized. Operational Purchasing & Travel Administration Receives and logs deliveries. Maintains inventory of front office supplies. Alerts supervisor when supplies are low. Facilities & Field Operations Coordination Reports office facility issues (lighting, temperature, maintenance needs) to appropriate person. Meeting & Event Coordination Reserves conference rooms and sets up basic meeting spaces. Ensures meeting spaces are clean and ready. Greets meeting attendees and directs them appropriately. Prepares simple refreshments when requested. Technology & Systems Operates multi-line phone system proficiently. Uses basic features of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook). Operates standard office equipment (copier, scanner, fax). Navigates Agency website to answer basic questions. Working Conditions Typical working conditions and physical demands required to perform the essential functions of the job: Work in an office setting, primarily sitting, occasionally standing and walking Operate standard office equipment, including computer, keyboard, mouse, monitor Occasionally lift materials up to 25 pounds Occasionally travel between Agency office locations Work Locations This position requires 5 days per week in the Mojave Water Agency Office located at 13846 Conference Center Drive, Apple Valley, CA.
