Role Overview As a Field Manager for Construction Materials Testing (CMT), you will lead and provide technical expertise in ensuring the quality of our construction projects. Your responsibilities will include overseeing quality assurance and quality control efforts, developing service scopes and cost estimates for testing opportunities, managing teams and project budgets, as well as advising on complex projects. This role requires travel to various job sites, where you will work in diverse terrains and weather conditions while collaborating with construction teams and offering technical guidance to clients throughout the construction process. You will play a crucial role in communicating with clients and project teams, ensuring successful completion of special inspections and materials testing in compliance with International Building Code, Department of Transportation standards, and individual project specifications. Key Responsibilities: Lead and supervise field staff in performing precise geotechnical and construction inspections and testing. Interpret and review project plans and specifications, offering recommendations for the most effective completion of testing assignments. Prepare and submit detailed project summary reports in a timely manner. Contribute to the development of project scopes, estimates, and proposals, while providing construction recommendations as needed. Attend client meetings, serving as a key resource for problem resolution. Organize and facilitate preconstruction conferences and project meetings as necessary. Work across various construction stages and under different environmental conditions. Identify and address potential safety hazards for both workers and the public at project sites. Your Qualifications: Excellent communication skills. Strong ability to collaborate and work effectively within a team. Conflict resolution skills to address and manage challenges. Proficient technical writing abilities. Project management experience is preferred. Capability to maintain a high level of alertness and ensure safety in all activities. Preferred education: Associate degree in a construction-related field. Minimum of eight years in a construction-related role. Preferred certifications include: American Concrete Institute (ACI) Grade I OSHA 30 International Code Council (ICC) Nuclear Gauge Relevant Department of Transportation/Roads certifications.
