Job Description: The Quality Management (QMS) Specialist provides functional leadership to develop, implement, maintain and improve Quality Management System programs for the site and across the network to ensure that end products are safe for human consumption and meet customer, consumer and regulatory requirements to achieve business objectives. The Specialist QMS provides leadership to improve Q&FS Management System for a Mars brand across the Mars Wrigley North America region. This role will: Be a key technical expert in global food safety standard and regulatory requirement implementation and management, working with Supply to ensure compliance and conduct relevant trainings. Collaborates well with local, regional and global teams. Builds collaborative relationships. Act as a key resource for risk mitigation plans and incident escalation management. Regular participant in MSE and plant FMOS meetings. Works closely with Technical and CVS teams to ensure Q&FS requirements are met and carried out. What are we looking for? Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Food Safety, Engineering or related field 3 years of food manufacturing experience in position related to food safety and Q&FS management systems In lieu of a degree a combination of education and 8+ years demonstrated success in related field Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Food Safety, Engineering or related technical field 4+ years of food manufacturing experience in position related to food safety and Q&FS management systems Experienced auditor in GFSI Quality Systems such as SQF, BRC, FSSC22000 or ISO9000 Knowledge/Experience: Demonstrated leadership capabilities to lead & influence others Ability to travel 10%-15% of time for team meetings, trainings, etc Demonstrated success managing Corrective and Preventative Actions and Internal Audit programs Experience with and understanding of FSSC 22000 requirements or other similar GFSI schemes Understanding of food safety standards, risks, identification and management. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Proven leadership within a team and demonstrated ability to lead change Proficiency with Nexus Key Functional Competencies & Technical Skills: Strong understanding of ISO requirements, the Mars QMS and Q&FS Standards Highly skilled in using Nexus systems and associates modules Demonstrated success in leading and influencing others What will your key responsibilities be? Act as back up to the Quality & Food Safety Manager; provides leadership and technical expertise during incident investigation and risk analysis as well as provides recommendations for appropriate resolution Lead the implementation of Global Quality and Food Safety standards to ensure compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory food safety requirements Lead the Implementation effort to ensure compliance with the Mars Quality Management System and associated Quality Management programs Lead Q&FS input for engineering related projects within the site and lead CVS, Handover process for Q&FS Lead Q&FS continuous improvement projects for a Brand across Mars Wrigley North America region to improve the brand experience Lead in combination with Q&FS Manager product related incident management process and provide recommendation on product disposition Attend Communities of practice to drive standardization, and creation of best practices Coach and develop associates in Q&FS team within the site or across the network. Lead gap assessment to the Mars Global standards and regulatory requirements, lead the Food Defense Plan and continuous improvement of quality systems and to ensure compliance. Lead corrective and preventative action and internal audit programs across the site for full FSSC and QMS compliance Partners with Supply and Engineering, R&D and other key stakeholders to implement changes, new process or new products in a safe manner and implement product quality conformance system. Responsible for providing Q&FS requirements on engineering projects Lead continuous improvement of Q&FS system and product quality and conformance to specification through analysis of data and evaluation of trends through use of statistical analysis for a given brand for region What can you expect from Mars? The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. The pay range shown is applicable to all US locations listed within the job posting:USD 79,280.00 - USD 109,010.00
