Position Summary: We're seeking an enthusiastic choir and theatre teacher to bring the joy of music and theatre to students in middle school and high school. This role includes teaching engaging, age-appropriate vocal music classes and middle and upper school theatre classes. The ideal candidate is passionate about music and theatre education, has strong classroom management skills, and loves working with middle and upper school students. Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and implement curriculum in alignment with department expectations Implement instructional activities that actively engage students in meaningful learning Collaborate with departmental colleagues to best support students in the Theatre and Choral productions and performances Communicate effectively with students, parents and colleagues on a regular basis Create performing arts course documentation as determined by the divisional and department expectations, working to vertically align curriculum Collaborate with the Director of Performing Arts to verify student eligibility and communicate course requirements Other duties as assigned by the Director of Performing Arts Bachelor of Music in Music Education, Theatre Education, or Performance 2 years of experience required Piano skills preferred Choral conducting skills preferred Experience directing theatrical productions preferred Proficient in Google Suite Ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive work environment. Commitment to a growth mindset and continuous professional development. Physical Demands: Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, and for the majority of the work day. May be required to lift up to 25 pounds.
