Quick Facts Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse (RN), MICU / Oncology MICU, Night Shift Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (Columbus healthcare, Ohio travel nursing) Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026) Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30) Hours per Week: 36 Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics (Oncology MICU) Estimated Weekly Pay: $1940–$2040 (competitive travel nursing pay) Job Details Work in a state-of-the-art Oncology MICU (J11 ICU/MICU ONCOLOGY) treating complex critical care patients. Opportunity for experienced MICU and critical care nurses, especially those with oncology ICU experience. Utilize Epic electronic medical record (Epic EMR) for documentation and collaboration. Minimum Requirements / Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent MICU experience within the last 3 years (at least 1 year of current specialty MICU experience required) Travel RN experience required (previous travel nursing assignments preferred) Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license in hand at time of submission) Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Experience with Epic computerized charting (Epic EMR) Two professional references (one from a manager/director or formal leadership; Charge RN acceptable for second reference) Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only) Core Responsibilities Provide comprehensive critical care nursing for oncology patients with diagnoses including oncologic emergencies, COPD, pneumonia, ARDS, GI bleed, neuromuscular disease, overdose, pulmonary hypertension, autoimmune disorders, and sepsis. Manage hemodynamically unstable patients: mechanical ventilation/ventilator management, pulmonary artery catheters, CRRT (NxStage), arterial pressure monitoring, cardiac monitoring, chest tubes, and central venous catheters. Administer and monitor complex medication regimens including chemotherapy administration and supportive oncology treatments in an ICU setting. Participate in clinical trials, plasmapheresis procedures, and performance/monitoring of special procedures such as bronchoscopy and endoscopy. Operate and monitor equipment: NxStage CRRT machines, Cortrak NG/Dobhoff placement, Alaris IV pumps, and GE monitors. Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions consistent with critical care and oncology standards. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams to deliver patient-centered care. Document accurate and timely patient care using Epic charting system (Epic EMR) and comply with unit policies and regulatory standards.
