Description A Nurse Practitioner is needed for the Louisiana Center for Bleeding and Clotting Disorders (LCBCD). This position is pivotal to the mission of the LCBCD in expanding its services with a concentrated initiative dedicated to the care of patients with blood disorders. This clinic would serve as a vital resource for primary and specialty providers throughout the state of Louisiana who refer patients with complex bleeding and clotting disorders. A Nurse Practitioner with experience in pediatric/family health care is a vital component to the LCBCD being able to adequately establish a comprehensive care clinic. The LCBCD utilizes a comprehensive care model in the treatment of patients with a variety of hematologic conditions, with an emphasis on patients with bleeding and clotting disorders. We provide care for patients throughout the lifespan. We are a federally funded Hemophilia Treatment Center, and the only such program for adults in the state of Louisiana. We have clinic locations in New Orleans, Metairie, Lafayette, and Alexandria. The nurse practitioner will collaborate with the rest of the LCBCB team to provide exemplary care for our patients. Qualifications Candidates must qualify for appointment at the instructor level and be Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certified. Rank and compensation will be commensurate with the level of qualifications and experience. Some of the specific duties required of the Pediatric/Family Nurse Practitioner and directly in line with the above-mentioned objectives are: Developing programs and services focusing specifically on identification, diagnosis, management, and treatment of children and adolescents with bleeding and other blood disorders throughout their life span Enhancing the coordinated care of pediatric and adolescent patients as they transition through the life stages Raising awareness among the patient population in order to foster proper diagnosis and securing optimal treatment Educating and collaborating with key healthcare providers throughout the community Translating, participating in, and disseminating provider information and research Application Instructions Interested applicants should apply and upload their CV via Interfolio at the provided link.
