Position Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct nursing care to patients hospitalized for treatment of behavioral health, psychiatric conditions, substance use, or dual-diagnosis disorders. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the LPN delivers compassionate, trauma-informed care while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment. You will play a key role as part of a multi-disciplinary care team, supporting treatment planning, de-escalation, medication administration, observation protocols, and patient education. Reports To: Nurse Manager / Chief Nursing Officer FLSA: Non-Exempt Education & Licensure Requirements RequirementDetailsEducationGraduate of an accredited LPN/LVN Program (Required)LicenseCurrent LPN/LVN License in the State of Massachusetts (Required)CertificationsCPR (Required upon hire); CPI/Handle With Care (Preferred or obtained within 30 days) Experience Preferred (Not Required): Behavioral Health, Detox, Psychiatric, or Med/Surg experience Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices Essential Job Responsibilities Provide direct patient care under RN supervision Conduct patient observations and safety checks Administer medications safely and per protocol Transcribe and carry out physician orders accurately Document patient status, response to interventions, and progress toward goals Assist with psychiatric emergencies and crisis stabilization Educate patients and families on treatment plans and care expectations Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring dignity, rights, and confidentiality Participate actively in interdisciplinary treatment planning Support detox monitoring protocols as applicable Communicate clinical updates to RN, provider, and care team Promote a positive, therapeutic, and recovery-focused environment Other duties may be assigned based on unit needs.
